Cool Kids Program

Cool Kids Program

Cool Kids Program is an anxiety management program created by Macquarie University that has stood the test of time.  It is a structured, skills-based program that teaches children (age 7-17) and their parents how to better manage anxiety.  It involves the participation of both children and their parents and focuses on teaching clear and practical skills.  Current results indicate that most participants show significant improvement in areas such as school attendance, academic achievement, confidence, number of friends and involvement in extracurricular activities as well as decrease in worry, shyness, fear and family distress, making this program an effective tool to help prevent more severe mental health issues later in life.

Rock and Water Program

Rock and Water Program

The Rock and Water program is all about promoting and building self-confidence, self-respect and resilience through physical exercises and self-reflection.  The Rock and Water program was developed by Dutch educator and author Freerk Ykema and has been taught to over 15,000 teachers and youth workers in Australia since 1998.  The program was originally created for boys but Australian educators quickly discovered the benefits for girls and the program is now delivered to boys and girls equally.  We have delivered the program many times in local schools, on site at Southern Community Welfare and on camps in the past with fathers and sons.  The program is easily adaptable and we have the capacity to deliver this program to boy groups, girl groups, parent-child groups and adult groups in a variety of settings.
